Postmaster General honored NIPOST Union


The union launched ICT hall at the Secretariat for members to have free access to internet and also to promote Information    Technology in the organization.


The knowledge of Information Technology is a must have knowledge in this era for everybody especially in the workplace where virtually everything is being computerised, and lot of things are done online.

NIPOST, as an organization is not an exception in this wise, computerization is going on in line with the reform process and employees are sensitize on the importance of this technological advancement. But, the fact remains that, only few have access to internet facility.

Base on this, the union deemed it fit to promote the organization and at the same time encourages members of staff to be acquainted with internet operation, thus the setting up of ICT Hall at the Secretariat for members' benefit.

The ICT Hall is equipped with internet facility, computer systems such that members can freely walk in and browse. Even with personal computer (laptop), one can be connected to the internet courtesy of SSA-NIPOST.

The Postmaster General of the Federation - Mallam Mori Baba was impressed by the union's initiative and he decided to personally launch the ICT Hall at the union's Secretariat.

All the way from the Federal Capital City, Abuja - the CEO of NIPOST was fully on ground on the 29th of April, 2009 for the launch. Some of the Deputy Postmaster General, Area Postal Managers, Head of Units and members of staff graced the occasion.

The Postmaster General did not only register his presence, he did promised set of computers as his contribution to the ICT Hall and assured the union of his support at all times.

The ICT Hall is one of lot to come from SSA-NIPOST to our members.
