Three (3) days Strike

SPANCO RAPS KENYA LIMITED:



The call centre employees staged a three days strike from 4th to 6th September to demand Union recognition. COWU (K) participated in the return to work negotiations successfully with workers returning to work on 6th September 2012.



Among the issues agreed on include:-



1. There will be no victimization of employees for participation on the strike.

2. The company agreed to operate check-off for182 employees who have joined the Union.

3. Members be allowed to elect representatives who will deal with day to day activities at the company.

4. The elected representatives to meet management on the 12th September 2012 to discuss leave and staff allowances.




All other terms to be discussed between the Union and the Company through the structured arrangements as provided by the law.
