UNION NEGOTIATIONS STARTED OFF IN JANUARY 2009 AND ENDED UP WITH A DEADLOCK .
THE PARTIES DECLARED A DISPUTE RELATING TO THE NEGOTIATIONS ON AN ADJUSTMENT OF THE SALARIES .
THE UNION TOOK THE MATTER TO THE ARBITRATION CENTRE AND BOTH PARTIES NOMINATED AN ARBITRATOR TO HELP THEM SETTLE THEIR DISPUTE.
THE AWARD COMES IN FAVOUR OF CASWUZ FOR THE 2009 COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AND IT WAS TOLD TO EFFECT THE AWARD AND START ON NEGOTIATING 2010 BUSINESS.
IN OTHER RELATED ARTICLE TEL-ONE ALSO EMBARKED ON COLLECTIVE BARGAINING ISSUE AND OFFERED WAS OFFERED 20% FOR 2009 SALARIES ON A SLIDING SCALE WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF THE UNION BUT BENEFITS WERE SLASSHED OFF AND THE UNION DID NOT AGREE WITH IT AND ALSO WENT ON NEGTOIATING ON IT UP TO NOW.
THIS YEAR'S COLLECTIVE BARGAINING HAS NOT YET STARTED. THE UNION IS STILL BATTLING ON LAST YEAR'S BARGAINING ISSUES.
