African women from 33 affiliate countries met in Tunisia Hammet for the 2nd UNI Africa Women's Regional Conference under the theme "Women of Africa facing up to its future".
The Conference was attended by the UNI World Women's Committee President Dennis Mcguire who spoke passionately about the need for "women breaking through together". She also spoke about the women's participation at the next UNI world conference scheduled for Cape town South Africa.
The outgoing Africa Women's Committee President Peace Obiajulu in handing over the presidency to newly elected President, Louise Platjies from Sasbo South Africa, implored on the need for the new Executive to work even harder in ensuring the Africa Women's Committee moved to the nhext level.

In her thank you speech, a somewhat overwhelmed Louise pledged to do her best in the position and appealed to the women of Africa to work together as a team in facing up to the future.
