African women from 33 affiliate countries met in Tunisia Hammet for the 2nd UNI Africa Women's Regional Conference under the theme "Women of Africa facing up to its future".
The Conference was attended by the UNI World Women's Committee President Dennis Mcguire who spoke passionately about the need for "women breaking through together". She also spoke about the women's participation at the next UNI world conference scheduled for Cape town South Africa.
UNI Africa held its 2nd regional conference in Hammamet Tunisia from 11 - 13 May 2009. The conference saw a convergence of over 200 delegates from 33 countries across the continent of english, french and portuguese nationality all meeting as one UNI Africa through solidarity and unity of purpose.

The program was sponsored by UNI Africa as part of an ongoing workers educators training program.
The ZUFIAW National Women's Committee has intensfied its training programs for District Women in order to ensure that women's participation in the Union is both enhanced and nurtured. The National Women Committee has had a vigorous education program targeting district women countrywide. The education seminars have been fully funded by the Union and have been aimed at equipping women with the much needed skills to assist them effectively and efficiently handle issues relating to women workers in their respective institutions.
