Central Working Committee of SSACTAC joins other patriotic Nigerians to register their happiness at the stepping up of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Acting President.
23-02-2010 The Senior Staff Association of Communications, Transport and Corporations (SSACTAC) congratulates Dr. Goodluck Jonathan at his stepping up as Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Tuesday, 9th February, 2010.
SSACTAC uses the medium to appreciate various efforts of the Acting President as Chairman, National Council on Privatization Exercises to ameliorate the situation of the workers following the ineffective conclusion of the privatization exercises in various organizations especially NITEL and MTEL.
Knowing from these activities he is a worker friendly leader, the union kindly request that he uses his new position to effect the under mentioned situations positively:
- Payment of all
arrears on salaries and allowances to NITEL and MTEL workers with a hitch free and balanced all stakeholders benefiting privatization exercises in the telecommunications giants NITEL and its GSM arm, MTEL.
- Payment of the balance of 50% of arrears owing on monetization to public servants as in NRC, NIPOST, NSC, VON, FRCN among many others.
- Executive pressure for early passage of the Nigerian Postal Service Bill with a guarantee of a 20years transition period for NIPOST to move from a public owned organization to a limited liability company to enable it reorganizes and re-engineers its infrastructure appropriately to meet its responsibilities under a modernised and highly competitive environment.
SSACTAC joins other well meaning Nigerians to pray for the full recovery of our President - Alhaji Umar Musa Yaradua and wishes the Acting President successful tenure while filling the gap.
