COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE UNION/MANAGEMENT MEETING
That the staff promoted and not connected to payroll shouldbeadequately informed on why their Promotion is yet to beconnected by the Deputy Postmaster General (CS) and theCircular to that effect be issued within one (1) week.
That 15% outstanding salary arrears (January - March, 2007) will be paid instalmentally. However, the representatives of the two unions and Finance & Investment Division were mandated to contact Ministries of Finance, Labour & Productivity and other Parastatals that have paid with a view to determining whether A.I.E. was required for the payment or not.
That working materials are now available and that the Operations Planning Division should produce the distribution and handover lists and forward same to the Territories via National Mail Route.
That Training for Labour and Management should be expanded to include Territorial union officials and should be on the priority list of Training for next year.
That the guidelines
for the 2009 promotion exercise should be in place. The Corporate Services Division was mandated to obtain correct assessment from the various Divisions, Departments and the Area Postal Managers.
That the National Housing Fund Pass-Book be updated by the Corporate Services Division before the end of the Year 2009, and return same distributed to contributors.
That staff welfare package should be reviewed. Thereafter, a Committee comprising Corporate Planning Department, Welfare Unit, Finance & Investment Division and the representatives of the two unions was constituted to work out the details and conclude its assignment within three (3) weeks.
