NSC launches Secretariat and House magazine
Nigerian Shippers' Council introduced a magazine called "The Voice" to serve as a platform for information dissemination among workers.
05-02-2010 A new feather was added to the cap of the Senior Staff Association of the Nigerian Shippers' Council as it officially commissioned its union secretariat recently and launched its house magazine.
In what could be tagged a season's gift to the NSC branch, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Shippers' Council; Captain Adamu Audu Biu said he was glad to collaborate with the present leadership of the Senior Staff Association of Communication, Transport and Communications (SSACTAC).
Captain Biu, in a rare candour and high spirit, promised improved conditions of service for workers and also uinfolded plans to step up action to meet up with at least 75% of SSACTAC requests.
While launching the house magazine, he reiterated his management commitment to the union. In the spirit of camaraderie, he called on the President-General of SSACTAC to launch the Secretariat.
The President-General of SSACTAC while launching the Secretariat, urged the branch to make use of the Secretariat fully and take the welfare of its members important. He also challenged them to explore areas for better relationship with the management with the ultimate goal of engendering mutual benefits for the stakeholders in the workplace.
In a solidarity message, the President of the NIPOST Branch of SSACTAC - Com. D. O. Apeh commended the NSC Branch for their well improved magazine and thereafter launched it with a sum of Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000).
