14 DAYS STRIKE NOTICE TO POSTAL CORPORATION OF KENYA

Under the provision of part X Section 76(a) of the Labour Relations Act No.14 2007 Laws of Kenya, the Communication Workers Union(Kenya)
hereby issues fourteen(14) days notice to the Management of Postal Corporation of Kenya effective from today 26th October, 2010.

This has been occasioned by Postal Corporation Management refusal to negotiate for the terms and conditions of service for its members. The outgoing C.B.A expires on the 31st December 2009 and efforts to put one in place have not born fruits due to non-Cooperation from PCK. The other issues include the staff Pension Scheme, proposed Voluntary Early Retirement Scheme, and high handedness by the General Manager(Human Resources Department) by suspending and in some cases refusing to pay overtime to staff.
